Safe and Sound are a registered charity based in Derby. Established in 2002, safe and sound are working hard to put an end to child sexual exploitation and abuse.

AVP teamed up with Safe and Sound in July of 2016 to help them create a fundraising film that would be launched at their fundraising gala. We went along to the offices and conducted interviews with key members of the team. We also conducted 2 interviews with young people that had previously been referred to safe and sound after being the victims of child sexual exploitation.

This meant that we had to use a creative filming style to ensure young people were unidentifiable, and no key features were caught on camera. This was also something that we kept a close eye on in the editing stage. We also had the young people’s voices dubbed over by actors. The 2 young people very kindly offered to be a part of the fundraising film as they wanted to raise awareness to help the charity support other victims.

The final film was shown at the Safe and Sound Fundraising Gala dinner held at Shottle Hall. It was a brilliant night and the event was a great success for Safe & Sound as they raised over £12,000.

This money will really help Safe and Sound to continue supporting children, young people and their families that are affected by exploitation, sexual violence and abuse.
