On Saturday the 12th of November 2016, AVP’s Brett went to Nottingham’s Rock City to watch his friends Danny Beardsley, David Wright and Breed 77 Bassiest Ben Edis as The Parallax Method, supporting heavy rockers Dorje.

This wasn’t a main stage gig like most might think, but it was down in the basement where its more intimate and you get to be apart of the show instead of everyone trying to push to the front. The Parallax lads set the night in motion and played a really good set, which mostly was new material from their upcoming new EP.

Their 30 minute set got everyone’s head bouncing and ears to attention with some great guitar, drums and bass filling the basement with prog happiness. Hopefully in the future (wink wink) we might be working with these guys again.

If you know The Parallax Method then you’ll know it isn’t your usual rock music but “Prog Rock”, what is prog rock? THIS IS PROG. Although it isn’t what most mainstream music sounds like, it has it’s hidden gems of mind bending metal and technical shreds. Similar to Devin Downsend
